Team of the Summer - SUU




SUU has taken on the great task of becoming the first Varsity program in the state. They are now listed as an Emerging Varsity program meaning they are trying to become Varsity but haven't hit all the requirements of becoming a full Varsity program. They plan to fill those requirements and establish themselves as a elite cycling team. Check them out at

2014 IMCCC Mountain Bike Season

I don't know if any of you noticed but we have had collegiate events popping up on the USAC website. which is awesome. We have now a full Mountain season that should be top of the line. IMCCC is working with Summit Bike Club, WEBECycling.com, and Rapid Cycling Racing to sponsor the events so that we can have a full race season worry free for the club. Id like to thank all of our sponsors that are helping put this together and it definitely was a lot of work to get to this point. This is the schedule so far is.

August 8th & 9th - Nordic Valley Squirrel Chase (State MTN Championship) - Eden, UT : ST, XC - Sponsored by WEBECycling and Summit. (TBA if for points)

Aug 29th & 30th - Nordic Valley Octoberfest - Eden, UT : ST, XC, DH  - Sponsored by WEBECycling and Summit

Sept 13th - TBA - TBA - TBA - Problem with interfering with a lot of things going on in the industry and around Utah. We might use WEBE's state Championship for points. (TBA)

Sept 27th - Riverview Woolpack - Heber City, UT - XC & DH - Sponsored by WEBECycling and Summit.

Oct 17th & 18th - Fall Fury : Collegiate State Championship - St George, Utah - ST, XC, DH - Sponsored by Rapid Cycling Racing.

Oct 24th - Oct 26th - National Championship - Beech Mountain, NC - ST, XC, DH, DS, TR - Sponsored by USA Cycling.

Rules:

We are going to keep it simple by going off of points. 1-10th place gets points in your category and CAT 1 first and second from each division goes to nationals. You also need to show up to 2 of the 3 or 4 races that will be presented to be eligible for call ups.

Points - first gets 10 points and 10th gets 1 point so - 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. A team overall win with 1 point per team member present at the race.

We also are going to have junior categories so if you are working with a high school team try to encourage them to show up and race. All of our dates are separate from NICA to help promote more racing for the high school teams in Utah. If you have been racing mountain this season and think you deserve an upgrade. Try to submit your upgrades because right now we are offering low requirement upgrades to help get you guys on your feet. Again thanks for these awesome people for helping us put on these races and I hope we are all ready to hit the dirt running come this next semester.

Road Season

This is our unfortunate situation.  We don't have enough racers to make putting on clubs own races worth it.  So to compromise over all the struggles we have, we are going to combine our season with part of UCA's Season.  We will be holding two collegiate races and three non collegiate.

Rules - To be qualified for nationals you will have to have three mass starts from the collegiate races and two from non collegiate.  The new collegiate rule is Cat A have to go to five mass starts to be qualified for nationals.  Since we don't have that we have to make do with what we have.  The point system will be the same and I hope this fits to everyones needs.
